Do you have a newborn on the way or already in your home? Do you just want some educational
nonjudgmental support? Are you overwhelmed by how much attention this new baby needs? Are you
unsure if you should breastfeed or bottle feed? Have you thought if I could just get a little more sleep? If
you answered yes to any of these questions a postpartum doula can help you.

A postpartum doula is a nonjudgmental/ non bias person who comes to your home to not only help with
the baby but to support the whole family. She/he will remind you that you are a great parent and doing
a great job; even when you feel so exhausted you no longer feel like you can give it your all. They will
validate your concerns and educate you on ways to make your life a little easier. As well as help you to
decided what feeding style best meets your needs. Or even just general questions you may have.
After having a baby your body goes through a life changing event. Your hormones feel like they are all
over. One minute you are filled with joy looking at this tiny human you just brought into your family. The
next minute you’re crying and have no clue why. Your doula will be that friend that you need to just sit
and listen to you when things are hard, or you feel overwhelmed.
A postpartum doula can come during the night so you can get the much-deserved rest that your body
needs without having to worry that your little one is being cared for. You can leave the dishes in the sink
and when you wake up the next morning the dishes will be clean and baby’s laundry will be done and
your house will be a little more tidy.
For myself as a postpartum doula my goal is to keep up on my education so I can provide the support my
clients need. I want my clients to feel like they have my full support no matter if they have a baby with
colic, a preemie baby, or just need someone to listen. Postpartum depression and anxiety are real, and I
want my clients to feel comfortable telling me anything. I have a compassion for helping others and that
is why I love my job. So, I hope after reading this you understand how much help a postpartum doula can offer.
